We have all heard the expression that laughter is good medicine, how true that statement has become! Without laughter our lives can be bleak and depressing, by adding a bit of good cheer and humor, even the most dismal of days can be enlightened.

There are many well known books that speak of laughter and the importance of it, humor and laughter is even mentioned in the Holy Bible. Where does humor tie into entertainment though?

Well it is simple, most entertainment is centered around humor, in fact most people prefer to watch a comedy movie over any other type because of the movies ability to brighten their day and make them laugh.

Thankfully we all have different ideas about what is funny and what is not, this is why one person will laugh at a scene while another will smile or seem indifferent about the humor. If all of us had the same sense of humor there would be no need for a variety of comedy movies.

Humor Is Crucial To Entertainment, As Is Laughter To Humans

Movies are not the only form of entertainment that is found to have humor in it, many comedians perform sold out shows in larger cities at comedy night clubs. Each night several comedians whether local, or famous talent, appear on stage for a few minutes and basically have the entire club in an uproar.

Though some people do not find it funny when the comedian picks them out of a crowd and centers a joke around them. This happens often with bald people, large people or just anyone that stands out to the comedian to make a joke about.

Some people find this singling out offensive, but their accompanying friends or family members normally get a great laugh or two out of the comedians efforts.

When considering all forms of entertainment be it movies, stand up comedians, music or other forms of entertainment; there is one thing that most comedy's have in common, and that is their ability to make us laugh.

Humans spend their lives stressed out and reach to entertainment to enlighten their days with some sort of humor to make life seem less stressful and serious.

If entertainment ceased being funny then entertainment would cease to be entertainment and most likely would fade away entirely. To imagine entertainment without humor is to picture a sky without a cloud, ever.
