Change your eating habits
This change may seem to be a bit overwhelming, and also may seem impossible, but if you follow the right steps, it will make the process much more accessible.
To control obesity, the first step is to cut back on your calories. If you cut back on 500 calories a day, you are loosing 3500 calories, which is equivalent to a pound. Before you start your diet, it is a good idea to keep track of the amount of calories your body intakes in a week so when you begin your weight-reduction plan, you can decide which foods you want to cut out of your daily meals.
Try to go slow and gentle: do not overdue it and do not skip meals. If you want to add a little exercise in your daily routine, an hour walk in the park can easily cut 100 calories or more.
The first step in controlling obesity is to learn when your hungry. Learn when you “need” to eat and when you “want” to eat. Other than your 3 meals a day, it’s ok to have snacks throughout the day as well. If you’re eating because of emotions, try assigning yourself to a comfort food such as carrots or celeries.
Satisfy your hunger
By satisfying your hunger, this behavior will allow you stay on your diet. When starving, it is a good idea to rate yourself on a scale from 0 to 10 how hungry you are. 0 means you’re starving and 10 means your stomach is full. So it would be a good idea to pick out healthier food choices anywhere from 2 to 8 on the scale. This way, when you’re hungry, you’re making a nutritive food choice.
You also will want to remember to love your food! Although you want to maintain a healthy lifestyle, it does not mean you cannot enjoy some of your favorite treats as well.
