Instead of going to the beach and just sitting around watching the kids, get in the water and do a few laps. Play a game of Frisbee with the kids, build sand castles, basically have some fun with the kids and you will burn all the more calories.

Get a Wii system and mix it up with the kids, you have a wide variety of activity choices, there is tennis, baseball, golf, bowling all of which require body movements to play.
