There are shopping and mall destinations for the shopaholic on almost every continent.

Some of the ideal mall and shopping destinations for the shopaholic in the United States are New York City, Chicago, Florida and Southern California.

Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue in New York City are home to a number of upscale designer stores. Shoppers looking for designer handbags will enjoy Louis Vuitton, Hermes and Prada. Clothing shoppers can shop at Barneys New York, Armani and Dolce & Gabbana. Macy’s Herald Square is only a couple miles away from this area.

Department stores on the portion of Michigan Avenue in Chicago known as the Magnificent Mile include a Bloomingdale’s with six floors and a Macy’s with eight floors. Bargain lovers will have a good time browsing through the selections at Filene’s Basement. There are six floors at The 900 Shops at the north end of the Magnificent Mile. Stores here include Coach, Michael Kors and Williams-Sonoma. Chicago’s State Street is also lined with stores including Sears, JCPenney and Payless.

Shoppers who want somewhere warm to shop during the winter months will find Florida to their liking. Sunrise, Florida is home to Sawgrass Mills which is known as the biggest outlet mall in the world. Burlington Coat Factory, T.J. Maxx and Marshalls have clothing and household goods at bargain prices.

Designers with outlet stores here include Kate Spade, Prada and Burberry. The mall has Last Call by Nieman Marcus, Nordstrom Rack and Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH. Designer stores with goods at full price are located an hour away on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach. Stores here include Tory Burch, Jimmy Choo and Salvatore Ferragamo.

Southern California is another pleasant place to shop during the winter months. Designer stores on Rodeo Drive, South Coast Plaza in Orange County, Ontario Mills in Ontario and the Cabazon Outlets in Cabazon are just a few of the places where shoppers can find clothing, accessories and other items.

Two cities in Europe that are famous for shopping are Paris and London. Designer stores in Paris include a Louis Vuitton flagship store, Dior and Chanel. Bargain hunters will find discounted merchandise at the flea markets in the city. London has Harrods department store, Oxford Street and a number of open air markets.
